Nothing at all happening at the moment with the block.
Went into Bunbury on Wednesday and called into the builders offfice. Spoke to B and it turned out she'd emailed us that morning letting us know the state of play. She'd been on to the shire to find out what the delay waas with our plans returning. It seems the man who does all the approvals is on holidays. arghh He's due back on Monday so the plans should be out next week, assuming no problems. I guess thats one of the risks you take moving to a small place. There is no relieving person when someone goes on holidays so everything just stops.
Trouble this means more weeks of delay. At least another 2-3 weeks for anything to move on site from when the plans return. :( At this rate we'll be into October before the pad goes down.
I had told myself I wouldn't post this but I have to post something so here goes:
Ta! da! .... It's our brand new water meter and tap.. woohoo ! not. lol Oh well at least we have water on the block. Anyone for a cuppa? It came in handy last weekend as we went up and moved some rocks around a couple of grass trees we want to keep and for hubby to do some weed spraying around the firebreak area. We "think " that once we actually build we don't need to keep the firebreak area. Certainly other houses nearby haven't but while the block is undeveloped ( no house) we have to have a firebreak. It means this summer we'll have to keep it clear.
This blog is for family and friends so they can watch as we settle in a new town with a newly built house and turn it into a home, establish gardens and settle in. Come and join us and follow the progress. I will try and include lots of photo's along the way.

Front elevation from plans followed by a modified version of the hosue from streetview wiht the additional garage as per our plans.
still playing around with the streetview house. Good old cut and paste fun.
Looks like the builders have modified the roofline from the original. Always assuming that it is the same plan to start with. I might have to go and knock on their door and ask.
Original from streetview IN the posting below this one.
Google Streetview
I've been having a play today with Google Streetview.
I've spotted a house in the town before ours that looks exactly like the original house plans we have modified for our build. I was going to take a photo but HUbby just suggested I try Streetview. :) LOL now I have a photo.
You can see where the original plan curves for an interesting but oddshaped main bedroom around and then the original ensuite wall. In our house this section will be part of our bedroom and the wall will be the blank wall width that will be at the front of our house. We will also have a double garage to the right of our bedroom and the double garage in their photo will be our office. :) You can't see the small verandah/porch at the front of the house as they have a little picket fence and a bush in the way. So this is the width of our house but ours will have another double garage width to it.
