Where the heart_h is

This blog is for family and friends so they can watch as we settle in a new town with a newly built house and turn it into a home, establish gardens and settle in. Come and join us and follow the progress. I will try and include lots of photo's along the way.

Just over 8 years ago we decided to move away from the city to live in a smaller community. I applied for a transfer and got one to start the following year. So we packed up and headed several hours south and ended up about 35 kms from the coast in a small rural township. We bought 3/4 of a acre in town and over the next year built a new home. Work = 120 kms round trip each day through some beautiful country. Life is busy and very full. My husband has nearly completed his second trainee certificate with the local community centre. Woohoo go Hubby! Our latest life event is that our eldest has just completed his first year of his new UNI course down here and we think has a PT job in the large regional centre 35 kms away. ( waiting on the trainer to return from holidays before he starts) His first. Not easy to come by when you live in a small country town and getting a job in the regional town isn't easy either as they always doubt you'll bother to drive in for work. Lots of changes Our 7th Christmas here this year. It will be our 6th in our "new" house.
